The pole is long gone now of course but the traditional atmosphere in the pub remains.A modern extension at the back of the pub accommodates the café which serves home-cooked food from 7.30am-2pm weekdays and 8.30am-2pm on Saturdays, at very reasonable prices. Landlord, Alan Lander, says that the pub prides itself on the quality of its beers and lagers.He said: "We are owned by Enterprise Inns which means we can serve a bigger range of beers and lagers. For example you would not normally expect to see both Carling and Fosters available under the same roof.
